A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)
I'm happy to Ms. Merriwether gets some love. Everyone always gushes about Julie Newmar's Catwoman and she is distinctive but Meriwether's might be better all around, combining the allure with some subtle acting. Newmar was playing it bigger than Meriweather who seemed oblivious to the absurdity as any character in the presentation should. Plus she's very pretty.
Julie Newmar is "my" Catwoman, if only because I saw her first. But Lee was awesome, too.
For me, Lee Meriwether will always be Dr. Ann McGregor (the Time Tunnel), Barnaby Jones' secretary, and Andy Griffith's wife (in the movie "Angel In My Pocket"). In that order.
I watched The Time Tunnel and Barnaby Jones, but it wasn't until I saw her as Catwoman in the '66 Batman movie (on TV sometime in the '70s) that she made an impression on me. It hasn't worn off. Luckily, we can enjoy both Julie and Lee in the role, eh, TC?
My experience was very similar. That is, I watched the Batman TV series when it was first run (1966-68), but I didn't see the 1966 movie until years later. So, to me, Julie was always a seductive bombshell, while Lee was a no-nonsense scientist or secretary or housewife. When I finally saw the Batman movie, I realized that she could also play a femme fatale. She was more versatile than she got credit for.
Not having seen the TV series in years (when I was a kid) at the time I saw the movie, I wasn't aware that it wasn't the same actress in the part, TC. Lee positively sizzled, and I loved her Miss Kitka voice. Incredibly sexy woman. (As is Julie.)

Rip Off
It's a hard call between them, Rip, but I must confess that I lean just a little more in Lee's direction.
