E-MAN COVER GALLERY... (Updated)

Images copyright respective owners

Not an exhaustive cover gallery I'm afraid, only the mags I actually own.  E-MAN was created by NICOLA CUTI and JOE STATON for CHARLTON COMICS in 1973 and lasted for only 10 issues over a two-year period.  The title was revived in 1983 by FIRST COMICS, written by MARTIN PASKO, and, later, Staton and PAUL KUPPERBERG, until original writer Cuti resumed the reins in ish #24 - though #25 was the final issue.  In 1985, First reprinted the Charlton run in a 7-issue series, and over the years, E-Man has been revived by various companies in one-shots and limited series.  As I don't have any of the later mags, you'll have to chase up the pertinent info on them yourselves.  You expect me to do all the work?

Have fun perusing the pretty pictures, and feel free to leave a comment if you've any memories of the character you'd like to share.  If not, just make something up - I'm not fussy.  (Update, 26-1-'26: I've now added the covers of the original '70s series as well.)

This was the last ish of this series I ever saw - maybe I'll track down
the remaining 20 issues and complete the set one of these days

I was thrilled to see this reprint series as I remember reading only the first (and
maybe second) Charlton issue, and this let me catch up with what I'd missed

And below, the original series that started it all.

PART FOURTEEN OF SMASH! COVER GALLERY...

Copyright REBELLION

There's good news and bad news, so I'll give you the bad news first.  There are only 11 issues left to show in this series before it ends.  However, the good news is that there are still 11 issues to show before the series ends.  See?  Whether something is good or bad sometimes just depends on the way you look at it.

That homespun piece of philosophy is entirely free, so store it in the back of your mind as you enjoy this current batch of SMASH! covers from the smashing '70s.  Isn't nostalgia a wonderful thing?

BABE Of The DAY - HEATHER THOMAS...

HEATHER THOMAS looks astonished
at what she's staring at.  I'm off-frame and my
modesty prevents me from revealing what I was
showing her.  Okay then - it was two old die-cast
cars.  She liked my Corgi Toys one, and just
couldn't take her eyes off my little Dinky.

The MIGHTY WORLD Of MARVEL ANNIVERSARY ISSUES...

Images copyright MARVEL COMICS

The MIGHTY WORLD Of MARVEL ran for 397 issues, but not all of them bore the same name.  The comic's title changed to MARVEL COMIC with #330, then became a monthly mag called MARVEL SUPERHEROES from #353 until its final ish, #397.  In that time, as far as I'm aware, there were only three anniversary issues - at least in its weekly incarnation.  Anyway, thought you slightly older Criv-ites might like to see them again and be reminded of your youth, so here they are for your perusal.

However, although MWOM was my favourite comic at the time, looking at it now, it's painfully clear how slapdash a lot of the issues were.  Missing Zipatone, hastily cobbled-together feature and splash pages, poor printing, etc.  And yet, although the 'production values' were often less than they should've been, it was still a great periodical and I have very fond memories of it.

C'mon, let's revisit yesteryear - together.
