Kid, that reminds me of a Les Dawson sketch where he tells the audience that some old dear is celebrating her one hundred and eleventh birthday - the audience claps and then somebody comes on and whispers in his ear - Les then says "Ladies and gentlemen I apologise, she's not 111 - she's ill". My father couldn't stand Les Dawson which baffled me as I thought he was hilarious.
Well, I loved his Mother-in-Law jokes - "I know when my Mother-in-Law is coming to visit because the mice are throwing themselves on the traps" or "My Mother-in-Law's favourite record is an LP of Hitler's speeches". Amazingly, this is now considered offensive. Sigh...

I liked some of his monologues, but found his piano-playing antics boring. I think he was an Opportunity Knocks winner, if I recall correctly.
