DC's SWAMP THING #1 FACSIMILE EDITION...

Copyright DC COMICS

DC's new facsimile of Swamp Thing #1 is now available, so don't let it get away.  Glossy cover, newsprint paper; original ads, metal staples, and thingie-doo-dahs - what more could you wish for from this replica of a classic collectable?  How about The Wit and Wisdom of Kid Robson?  What's that - not enough reading material to keep you occupied for more than a few seconds?  And that's only if you read slowly?  Cheeky b*ggers!  I'll have you know I'm a well-known intylechsul, admired around the world for my huge brayne.  Anyway, enjoy some lovely art by Bernie Wrightson, presented just for you.

I picked up my copy on Thursday when I was in Glasgow Kid. Sadly, Spider-Man 1,000 was sold out but as I'm heading down south on Monday for a wee holiday I will check if it's available down there.

Hopefully, it will be, McS. I still haven't read more than the first story in ASM # 1,000, but I'll get around to the rest before too long. That's one good thing about eBay, in that I can pre-order the comics that take my fancy so there's less chance of missing them.

My father would have turned 99 today (Oct 12th) and on Wednesday it'll be the 100th anniversary of Winnie The Pooh.

Do you raise a glass to his memory on the day, CJ? And has Winnie invited you to his party in the 100 Acre Wood? (I'm going.)

Kid, my father died in '99 and he'd be 99 today so I suppose I should have an ice-cream cone with a Flake in it.

BBC Radio 4 and Radio-4 Extra have numerous programmes across this week to celebrate Pooh's 100th birthday.

In my 3rd year of Junior School my teacher was called Christopher-Robin Bond - two famous literary names in one.

Good one, CJ. How appropriate. I want you to do that and let me know when you have. If it's too cold for ice cream, just have a Flake.

I heard Lenny Henry read one of the Pooh chapters on Radio 4 earlier today. I doubt I'll make a point of listening to everything, but I'll listen if I'm around when something comes on. I've got Radio 4 on throughout the day.

As you'll know, Christopher-Robin Milne was a real person, and Bond was based on me (he ludicrously lied).

Kid, I recall you complaining that Radio 4 has been taken over by the woke agenda (or words to that effect) so I'm a bit surprised that you haven't boycotted Radio 4 by now!

I was in Tesco this morning and I bought a pack of 4 Flakes. I'd already been planning to buy a small tub of vanilla ice-cream next week so now I can have a bowl of ice-cream with a Flake stuck in it - my version of a 99.

I also bought a box of Frosties and I'm pretty sure I haven't eaten any Frosties since childhood so this will be a nostalgia trip for me. I remember sprinkling sugar on my Frosties and my father saying "There's sugar on them already!" but I haven't used sugar for over 30 years so no sugar on my Frosties this time!

I have Radio 4 on just for background sound, CJ, I don't actually listen to every programme, just those that grab my interest. Women's Hour is probably the most woke programme on the station, with a bunch of feminist harpies whining on about how hard done to they are by men, so I usually just zone out when it's on - if I'm even in the same room.

My breakfast cereal these days is Special K, the version with extra nutrients like b12, etc. I'm absolutely knackered today, so I think I might just stay in instead of going to the shops. Enjoy your 99. In fact, I think you should have 99 of them.

Picked up the Swamp Thing #1 facsimile today, although I also have the previous $1 reprint from a couple of years back. I see that you're a Special K man - I've been getting the version which has freeze-dried strawberries in it - tastes great, but I find that I'm hungry again mid-morning with Special K.

I've got that dollar reprint as well, B. And it's the Special K with the freeze-dried strawberries that I also eat. The solution to your mid-morning hunger pangs is simple - have another bowl.
