REFERENDUM? THAT'LL BE THE DAY!

Nothing new under the sun...

Regular reader T47 sent me some scans from a 1975 IPC publication concerning the Common Market.  As Brexit lingers in its final stage of negotiations, I thought they may be of interest to other Crivvies - so here they are.  Click on images to enlarge, then click again for optimum size.  (The third image enlarges only once, but once is enough.)  Comments welcome.

So on January 1st we'll finally arrive at the Brexit Promised Land, led by our latter-day Moses BoJo the Clown (but unlike Moses, Boris doesn't intend to expire on a mountaintop before reaching his destination). I suspect that the Brexit land of milk and honey will be a huge disappointment for many who voted for it in the referendum.

Ah, so you don't believe in democracy, CJ? After all, the majority voted for Brexit, so - like it or not - the people have spoken.

Kid, where in my comment does it say I don't believe in democracy? I do accept the result of the referendum but I believe Brexit will prove to be a monumental folly in the years to come. Boris Johnson is one of the biggest charlatans, snake-oil salesmen and bullsh*tters in this country's history - 'nuff said.

I didn't say you didn't, CJ, I was asking if you didn't because your comment seemed to suggest a certain unhappiness with the results of it. And we didn't get Brexit because of Johnsone (though I don't necessarily disagree with your opinion of him), we got it because the majority of those who voted wanted it. So he's only trying to get what the majority of voters voted for.

Nice cartooning . Yep I'm 100% against leaving EU but Kids right the majority voted for it Colin so we have to hope it works out . Only time will tell and it will but we will get by.

Thing is, with Covid-19 b*ggering up the economy, the intended result that Brexit was designed to accomplish is going to be harder to achieve. No doubt Brexit will get the blame for what Covid has done, but it's in everyone's interests now that it works - deal or no deal.
