BABE OF THE DAY - DON'T ASK ME WHO...

Here's today's 'Babe', fellas.  I can't tell you
her name 'cos I never asked her for it.  Well, do
you blame me?  She never asked for mine.

The above comment is from someone calling himself Michael, with the 'c' word asterisked out by me. Obviously, he's intellectually challenged, for the following reasons:

There's nothing sexist about a man appreciating a beautiful woman, or vice versa. It's Nature's way.

These posts are done with my tongue firmly in my cheek, and often display a self-deprecating tone. Is the woman being sexist when she poses for photos which she knows are going to be admired by the opposite sex? No.

Bad spelling, absent punctuation, and abusive language betray 'Michael' as the bitter, ignorant, and useless tw*t that he is. No doubt he has an inflatable boyfriend, which is why he hates seeing photos of women so much.

Don't worry, readers - I'll spare you any further feeble remarks from the dobber. In fact, I won't even read them before deleting them.

Totally agree and cannot understand why anyone would have a problem with this sort of photo. I've become familiar with the cant about "objectification" but as you say the objection makes no sense if the object of the photo poses for it, and certainly isn't doing so under duress, financial or otherwise.

Weird, weird, weird.

What gets me, GP, is that these types of people don't seem to have a problem with ads where a guy strips off in a laundrette or where women ogle the Diet Coke man, but the second a guy looks at a woman and thinks 'phwooaar', it's sexist. I think some guys are so desperate to be accepted by women that they eagerly espouse the 'feminist' cause in order to ingratiate themselves with females. It's their way of saying "I'm on your side - love me!"

We saw some of this syndrome in the GHOSTBUSTERS reboot, where it was OK for the girls to dress down and be sexist about a "himbo." One crucial difference, though, is that while some or all of the actresses could look good "dressing up," while it wasn't possible for most of the original Ghostbusters to look like fashion plates.

What amazes me is that some so-called feminists seem to think that the way to redress all the perceived 'injustices' they accuse men of perpetrating against women is for women to treat men in the same way. That may put the boot on the other foot, but it doesn't solve anything. After all, two wrongs don't make a right.

Kid, i know you said some, not all, but i just want to emphasize that most feminists do not behave that way. Real feminists just want all people to be treated fairly. When we achieve that goal there will be no further need for feminism. I'm a feminist and i approve of this post

Yes, they come in all shapes and sizes of opinion, AH, and as you rightly observed, I was not referring to all of them. Only a bitter, twisted, militant minority who are in pursuit of their own agenda.
