I wouldn't really describe myself as an 'autograph hound', but I do have a few famous signatures. Namely, BOB HOPE, ROGER MOORE, RIKKI FULTON, JOHN NOAKES, STAN LEE, WILL EISNER, MARIE SEVERIN, BRIAN BOLLAND, LEO BAXENDALE, TERRY BAVE, BRIAN SIBLEY, and, er - THARG The MIGHTY. Oh, and I've also got ROBERT BARTHOLOMEW's 'autograph' on a letter somewhere. (That's BART from ALF, Bart, and COS fame to all you POWER COMIC fans.)
So, fellow Crivvies - do you have any 'John Hancocks' and, if so, which ones are you most proud of? Boast a little in the comments section.
And in case anyone is wondering about the title (some anonymous would-be commenter has already tried to suggest a sexual connotation), JOHN HANCOCK was an American known for the prominent way in which he signed his name on the Declaration of Independence, hence his name becoming synonymous for the word 'signature'.

I didn't know the name John Hancock was synonymous with 'signature' so I've learned a new fact today!
I don't own any famous signatures nor have I ever wanted any :)
It's used more in America, CJ, but because of American movies and comicbooks, we've all heard or read it at some time, so it's occasionally used here as well - as this post testifies. I know you secretly yearn for my autograph (as does everyone), so there's no need to deny it.
Jim Kelly, Sylvia Crystal , Richard Dawson ,Colin Crompton ,Charlton Heston , Robert Wagner . Nicholas Roag...Thats all folks.
Sylvia Crystal? Must be a forgery, LH, 'cos her name's Sylvia Kristel. (What part of you did she autograph?)
Its her alright..I got it at a Lady Chatterly's Lover movie screening in the early 80s when she was the Special guest..The sad thing was the movie stunk.
Didn't all her movies? (Having said that, I've never actually seen one.) Charlton Heston's autograph is the pick of the bunch I'd say, followed by Robert Wagner. A touch of Hollywood.
Charlton Heston signed it whilst promoting his Biography and Robert Wagners is on a copy of Austin Powers DVD...Come to think of it I also Have Jerry Reeds on a DVD of Smokey and The Bandit.
Colin Baker expected money for his autograph and I sure as hell wasn't going to shell out anyt dosh for the autograph of the worst Dr Who of all
I think Colin Baker was sabotaged by the BBC by being saddled with that garish outfit, which was completely at odds with the slightly darker Doctor he was supposed to be playing. I wasn't actually watching the show at that time, though I caught an episode or two, but he does strike me as being slightly arrogant in real life. I wouldn't actually pay for anyone's autograph, unless it was on a cheque for a million pounds - in which case I'd give them a tenner for it.
I only have one autograph left I paid via a dealer and it’s Cary Grant. All the others I got in person. The interesting ones- Tony Curtis, Debbie Reynolds. Caroline Munro. Erin Gray. Mary Wilson of the Supremes. George Hamilton. Joan Collins . Mickey Rooney. Lindsay Wagner. ( I live close to LA so they have autograph shows). Malcolm McDowell of all people . John Wesley Shipp ( 90s Tv Flash ). Ron Ely.
An impressive list, PS - now you only need MY autograph to complete it.
I only have one autograph- Colin Baker! I was with my 9 year old son and Colin was fantastic with him - inviting him round to his side of the table so they could be photographed together. I took two snaps and he encouraged me to take more. Cost was a tenner - the memory was priceless. An absolute true gent.
Well, it's nice to hear that he isn't always the grumpy curmudgeon that he sometimes comes across as, CN. I thought he was a bit dismissive in his comments about Peter Davidson's views on having a female Doctor though. A tenner? I'd have expected a cup of tea and some chocolate biscuits, as well as the photos and an autograph for that kind of price - but then again, I AM Scottish.
