Before CONAN, there was KULL, who first appeared in CREATURES On The LOOSE #10, before eventually being awarded his own magazine, which you can see above. Incidentally, I'm proud of myself - I managed to resist the compulsion to type KULL The KONQUEROR as the title to this post.

Hey Kid, nothing to do with the comic you've presented, but....do you recall a book coming out in the late 70s/early 80s, a history of DC Comics, slightly bigger than normal comic size, but quite thick, mostly text with illustrations here and there, plain blue cover with an DC logo embossed on it....?
I'm asking for a friend involved in an insurance claim (of all things)....it didn't ring any bells with me, thought I'd ask around.
The only book I've got that comes anywhere near that description, BS, is Les Daniels' DC Comics book (a history of the company), which, under the dustjacket, is plain blue with the DC logo on it. Thing is, it's a '90s book, so that can't be it - unless your pal's got his dates wrong.
The first 10 - 15 or so issues of "Kulls" 1971 onwards book are excellent with Marie/John Severin (ihmo) outstanding art in first 10 issue and Ploog, Sal Buscema, Gil Kane art in other issues - Issue 9 is still one of my favourite comics.
I've got all the Marie/John Severin issues, plus the first Mike Ploog one, McScotty. I prefer the Severin ones 'though - classic stuff.
