A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

And now, a word from your host...
A veryMERRY CHRISTMAS to all CRIV-KIDS everywhere.
I never liked the term Chip-ite so I was always a Whizz-Kid, although I think there was a story in Chips that I wished was in Whizzer. Can't recall which one as I'm at that age now. I'll look through a few issues and get back to you. I've had some lovely presents but one which stands out is The Best of The Topper Book which I'll enjoy reading. I think the parents-in-law picked it up in a National Trust bookshop. Another goody is the World's Smallest Evel Knievel to go with last year's full size one. https://amzn.eu/d/9TUvh4Z
Nadolig Llawen, Feliz Navidad and Frohliches Weihnachten - that's Merry Christmas in Welsh, Spanish and German to add to the French greeting above and a happy Boxing Day to you, Kid!
Apologies for the delay in publishing and responding to your comments, M & CJ, but I haven't been feeling too well over the last couple of days and done a lot of sleeping. The Best Of The Topper Book is an old one from a few years ago, isn't it, as I bought it at the time, along with The Best Of Whizzer & Chips, and either The Best Of The Hotspur or The Best Of The Victor? When you say 'full-size' Evel Knievel, do you mean human size or am I just being daft?
Och, I only need one language to say Merry Christmas, CJ, and I can't even pronounce the first and third ones above. Are you trying to make my brain hurt? (Doesn't take a lot.) And a Happy Boxing Day to you, too - hope you win by a knockout.
I doubt they ever did a life-size version of Evel Knievel. Imagine cranking that energizer. Yes The Topper book was from a few years back when they did all those 'Best Of' books. I didn't buy any at the time but wished I had when it was too late. They should do those every year, I would probably buy.
Kid, if you're interested, on BBC Radio 4-Extra tomorrow at 3pm you can hear I'm Sorry I Haven't A Christmas Carol originally broadcast in 2003 and featuring Humphrey Lyttleton, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Barry Cryer etc. It's being broadcast as the third installment of Sue Perkins' Christmas Comedy Stocking (the previous two were on December 13th and 20th).
I bought most of them, M. Beezer, Topper, Victor (or Hotspur), and Whizzer & Chips. There was a life-size version of Evel Knievel, manufactured by Mr & Mrs Knievel.
I was a lucky lad, Kid. In the comics realm, I received the Swamp Thing Absolute edition, which includes HoS #93 and Swampi 1-13, I believe. The problem is that it is all sealed in cellophane: should I keep it pristine and buy a used reading-copy?

Joyeux Noel to you too (or however you spell that).
Thanks, GP. Hope Santa was good to you.

A belated Merry Christmas, Kid. Thanks for your interesting posts, this year!

Merry Christmas to you, too, P, and thanks for reading my posts.
Thanks, but I'm not watching or listening to anything at the moment, CJ - too busy sleeping.
And Happy Boxing Day to you, B. Did Santa bring you everything you were looking for?

That's like buying a bag of Maltesers and not opening them, B. Take off the cellophane and delve into the book's delights.
