PART TWO OF JACK KIRBY'S CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN COVER & IMAGE GALLERY...

Images copyright DC COMICS

No, your eyes do not deceive you - I've moved some of the images from part one over to here, in order to allow me to add new images to the previous instalment.  So, although you've already seen some of these pages, this post also contains half a dozen new ones to thrill and amaze you.  Well, what are you waiting for, readers?  JACK KIRBY's pulsating piccies lie before you - and don't forget to revisit the now expanded version of part one - or return for the penultimate serving of the CHALLEGERS Of The UNKNOWN - coming soon to CRIVENS!  (Absolutely the best blog you've ever read in the last 30 seconds.)

Kid, I was listening to a series on Radio 4 Extra recently called "Journey Into Space " from around 1955 and that featured four space adventurers lead by (I think) Jet Morgan - here we've got four space adventurers lead by ACE Morgan !

Except that the Challengers' adventures weren't restricted to space. However, it is an interesting similarity.

Issue 12's octopus cover is my absolute fave of the Challs, in fact, it's one of my favorite covers ever, period.

It's very nice, sure enough, WS - but I wish Wally Wood had inked it.

You know, coloured differently, that could easily be Marvel Girl on "The Traitorous Challenge"!

Or Sue Storm, or just about every female character drawn by Jack, I think, JP. A lot of his characters tended to look alike.
