The DALEKS copyright BBC TV, the Estate of TERRY NATION, and DALEK Enterprises |
Remember that old story about DALEKS not being able to climb stairs? It was, of course, a lie, as this candid photograph of my Dalek pal gliding up the stairs on his way to bed clearly demonstrates. The truth is that Daleks only pretended not to be able to climb stairs for the purpose of drama in the BBC TV series Dr. WHO.
They concluded that the most efficient way of conquering the universe was to infiltrate every planet's entertainment broadcasting system and to establish a following amongst viewers , young and old. TERRY NATION was their agent on Earth, and the Daleks are now all millionaires and known all over the universe as superstars.
See? That's the way to do interplanetary conquest! Take note.

Yeah, remember that old TV 21 competition, 'If I saw a Dalek in the street...."?
Well, I was tempted to answer, "I would go inside and go upstairs!"
Similarly, how do you defeat Spidey? - Push him in the bath, he'll never be able to scramble out up the sides!
:-)
On the subject of Daleks, that Dalek Forum is no more! But it certainly went out with a bang!
So what happened to the Dalek Forum, JP? Why did it expire?
Let's call it a conflict of interests. As a deputy, I believe I deserved a bit of loyalty, courtesy and consideration when it came to decision making, but the founder did not agree. He invited me to a "friendly forum", but proceeded to run it like a stalag with his rules and announcements. Whenever there were problems, he would pass the buck to me or couldn't be contacted, until I had sorted them out. Then he would reappear with a big announcement. I took the blame for him, apologised on behalf of him and brought most of the members to it and made hundreds of posts. When he went behind my back and against my wishes with a mass cull of "innactive" members ( from a 3 month old forum!? ), undermining me, including members I had invited at his request, one of whom was Iain McClumpha who had given permission to use his work and is working on a project that was due to be debuted on there....well, that was the last straw! I asked him to reinstate Iain, he refused, it was HIS forum, I gave him the chance to save it, I said work with me 50/50, undo your mess or I walk and go public. Rather than reply to me, he banned me from the forum behind my back!
So I went public.
I have since learnt that he has destroyed the forum completely and opened a new one, slagging me off!
No wonder you say you have no time for forums!
You should debut Iain McClumpha's project on your own blog, JP - or I'll post it here for you, if you both agree. I'd have commented on your former pal's Dalek forum if it had been open to the public instead of being a 'members only' set-up, which I'm always a bit suspicious of.
Well, Iain's going to set up a Facebook page for it, but I'd also like to debut it on here at the same time?
Well, the offer's there, so I'll leave it to you and Iain to decide, JP.
Iain's thrilled that you'll be posting it too, Kid!
:-)
One of you write an intro to it, JP, which I'll include when I post it.

I won't be joining, JP - I no longer join closed groups, but I've posted the link for others who may be interested. In answer to your other (unpublished) question, yes - numerical order would be better for here.
