HELP A HORROR OUT TODAY...

Someone gave me this book a while back, but pages 7 & 8 are
missing.  (Assuming, that is, that the page count starts from the out-
side cover.)  Have any Criv-ites got this book, and if so, would you
be prepared to provide me with scans of the missing pages?

I almost bought this book in a charity shop in that England place last year but the price they were asking was way over the top, in my opinion (7.99 for a really ragged, scruffy copy). Sorry I can't help, Kid, hope you find someone who has a copy.

Happy Easter,Kid. I've just ate a whole Easter egg and half a slab of simnel cake (I ate the other half yesterday) - I didn't enjoy either, why oh why do we eat this muck just because it's Easter. The only thing I did like was some hot cross buns I bought about 10 days ago.

Sadly, some charity shops don't have a clue about pricing, DD. They check out eBay to see what price are asked for such items, but they don't properly take into account the condition of them, nor whether eBay prices are ever actually realized.

Happy Easter, CJ. I'm fond of hot cross buns myself. Why do we do it? Because we CAN!

I've got it, haven't a clue where it is though. If yours is missing the dust jacket, they sometimes assign those folios so that might throw the numbering out.

Mine's got the dustjacket, DSE, but the pages aren't numbered until page 13, which either means that the external cover is included in the numbering or that there are more pages missing than I thought.

Hi Kid

I have the book (had it since the 70s) and yeah the page numbering actually starts from 13 as mentioned in one of the earlier comments. Counting back though 7 and 8 would seem to be the title page and contents (either side of one page), so if my counting is correct I can scan and send those if they are the ones that don't appear in your copy. Big book so I'll have to do them in parts and re-combine in Photoshop but no biggie as I sit around trying not to eat too much chocolate on Easter Monday.

Superb, PC, would be much appreciated. In your own time, no screaming hurry. I just hate the thought of a book being incomplete. I tried my local library to see if they had a copy I could scan from, but no cigar. Thanks again.

I have it too, but it seems that the matter is being dealt with! :)

Yup, PC came through, AJ, but thanks for being available to help.
