DON'T GET ON MY NERVS - PART ONE...

From the first combined issue of SMASH! & POW! (#137),
September 14th 1968, comes The NERVS by the late KEN REID.
Every U.K. comics reader of a certain age knows who Ken is, and rec-
ognises his immense stature and prominent position in the pantheon
of great British cartoonists and illustrators.  If you're a 'newbie' who
is un- familiar with Ken's work, before you now lies the joy of dis-
covery of something truly precious.  Enjoy!

The Nerves is my favourite Ken Reid strip, it really gives his imagination legs. He had a great knack of combining expression with detail and he was one of the best at using blacks.

I used to have a page of Nervs original art at one time. Ol' Ken was sure some artist.

Even though Ken's art is far superior, I still prefer the (original) Numbskulls to the Nerves.

That's interesting, JP. Sometimes, perhaps, simplicity has the edge.
