I tend to think of JIM STARLIN as a MARVEL artist, probably because I first saw his artwork on the cover of The MIGHTY WORLD Of MARVEL #2, and, with an occasional exception, it's been mainly Marvel mags I've seen his art in ever since. However, here's a 1978 DC comic I picked up just a few weeks back which features Jaunty Jim's take on SUPERBOY And The LEGION Of SUPER-HEROES.
The cover is by MIKE GRELL & JOSEF RUBINSTEIN, but below is a trio of pages by Jim Starlin himself. I'm bound to say that the cover masthead is the most boring I can recall ever seeing on a DC mag - or, in fact, any mag by any U.S. publisher. Anyone think I'm being too harsh?

LSH was one of my all time favourite comics. I still have a lot of my original copies of the title in my collection going back to 1969 (Well it was "Superboy..." then) including this one- I think Starlin did a couple of other LSHs as well. My first memory of Jim Starlins work was on Captain Marvel 25 (one of those comics that when I see it I'am taken right back to when I saw it) I seem to recall he did an OMAC strip at DC in the early/mid 70s s well (perhaps as a back up tale ) One of the dwindling number of back issues I am still after is a Jim Starlin drawn Conan tale from the colour Conan the barbarian title (cant recall the issue) I don't think I ever saw that one (hint hint if you have that in your collection)
The Superboy, Mon-El, and Wildfire/Erg-1 figures on the cover look like bulky Starlin bodies instead of Grell's leaner figures.
Possible Starlin did a layout that Grell fully-rendered?
I think the first American comic I saw with Starlin's work was also CM #25, PM. And I think I've got that Omac strip you refer to as well. Can't remember if I've seen his Conan ish 'though, so I doubt that it's nestling in my collection alas.

I'd considered the same possibility myself, BR. Of course, perhaps he was just trying to make it look as Starlin-like as possible.
That Jim Starlin Conan story was printed in the UK Savage Sword monthly #16 if I recall correctly.
Then I DO have it, CJ, 'cos I own all 18 issues of the mag, the very ones I bought back in the '70s. If you're right (and there's no reason why you shouldn't be), I'll post a few pages for PM.
Kid, I said Savage Sword MONTHLY - #16 was dated February 1979.
The Starlin Conan story first appeared in the B/W mag Savage Tales then was reprinted much later in the colour comic. Omac appeared in Kamandi and when it was cancelled it continued in the back of Warlord . They were collected a few years ago in an Omac special. As for the LSH it was Joe Rubenstien who finished over Starlin's layouts.

Oh, so you did, CJ. (I must've been too tired to catch it.) I've got a a reprint series (Conan Saga) of the b&w monthly, so the Starlin tale might be in one of those issues. I'll check when I get time.

Thanks for the info, Russel, but I think the Starlin Omac story appeared sometime in the '80s in a comic called DC Presents (or something like that). I'm sure I've got it, so that's another thing I'll have to check when I get time. (Incidentally, Britt was suggesting that Starlin laid out the LSH cover, which Grell pencilled, then Josef Rubinstein inked.) How's the paper round?
Oh, wait a minute - I've just remembered that the DC Presents story was by George Perez, not Jim Starlin. (I'm sure Russell knows that too.)
