At the beginning of 1987, the first issue of IPC's new fortnightly A5 comic for young kids hit the shops - NIPPER. After five issues, it became a standard A4 comic, which lasted until #16 when it then merged with BUSTER. However, there was a sample version tried out on readers before the regular title's release in order to try and stir up demand for it. Here's that complete ish!

Brad Break - what a trait for a character! "Boy with broken leg", as if Spotted Dick was bad enough...
My "Dad" Mum is a bit of a shame, could've been something surprisingly progressive, instead she's clueless without a man, ho hum.
Nice to see something by Davey Jones in there, always fun seeing Viz artists in non-adult comics.
Steve Bright did a great job duplicating Davey Law's style. My Dad Mum was quite daring for its time, I thought.
Thanks for sharing this one with us, Kid. I never bought a single Nipper, so this is a first time read for me.
I only got it 'cos I lettered most of it, JP.
