A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

funny you should say that i have just got one i was looking for last weekend.
Action Force monthly #2 mainly wanted it again because of the Snake Eyes story in it.
That's a great idea for a discussion topic, Kid!
I've managed to re-acquire most of the comics I owned as a kid but were knicked / traded / lost over the years. I spent years tracking down a copy of X-Men #65 after a UK reprint brought back long-buried memories of Neal Adams' great artwork. I must have owned a copy as a very young kid but I could only remember a few images and hadn't remembered where from until that point. Finally found a lovely copy in a Blackpool market and was very, very pleased...
I did get rid of a shed-load of British Marvels at one point in the '90s in a moment of madness... but I've managed to live without them :-)
The one comic that I owned ( and which I can be bothered about replacing ) that I'm still looking for is a late '60s Batman or Detective in which the Caped Crusader was up against Catwoman and her all-female gang of cat-burglars. I'd like to see if it was as kinky as I remember it - with Catwoman whipping her henchwomen whenever they stepped out of line. But that just might be my twisted memories ;-)
I think I worked on some U.K. Action Force tales, Paul.
That Catwoman tale rings a bell, Cerebus. I think I might have that one.
Keep 'em coming, folks.
I do - it's Batman #197. That'll be my next post, Cerebus.
lol i have just check the credits for the story i love in this issue (the Cold Zone) and i think it may be one you did the lettering on. blimey its a funny old world.
If it says Kid Robson or Glop, it's me. Thing is, I can't remember if I lettered for the Marvel U.K. Action Force - I did letter for the IPC/Fleetway one 'though (Battle Action Force).
matey it has you down on g.i.joe wiki as Gordon Robson aka glop so think this is you.
The story was one of my favorites when i was a kid did a bit on my blog only yesterday about it. managed to get a copy at a car boot at the weekend now have a full set of 15 issues again.
Just took a look and the cover rings a bell, so you must be right. I think that issue is up in my loft somewhwere with a stack of other Marvel U.K. stuff I did around that time.
Yeah the cover is cool it comes with a poster of the same cover.
There are quite a few comics I would like to get again that I stupidly got rid off from my childhood (to early teens) including some issues of Batman Family with Michael Golden's early (amazing artwork) a 100 page Superman comic with an amazing Neal Adams cover (flying heroes) Detective comics 425 (as I'm a big fan of Frank Robbins now but threw this out as at time I hated his work) and an plus a few early 70s UK Marvels I would like to pick up again, But the big one I would like is a comic called the Mighty Crusaders (issue 4) a story called "To many super heroes" that to a then 10 year old was just magic (and may have triggered my fascination with comics) tons of characters a simple story etc. I managed to pick up a reprint of it in a tatty copy of an Alan Class comic recently ( it really is an awful story but I still want the original) Luckily I held on to most of my favourite comics from the past (or managed to get them for 50p - £1) - McScotty
US: Fantastic Four 83, which was the first American colour issue I owned featuring the Inhumans.
UK: issue 1 of IPC's Thunder.
For sheer sentimental value, either Huckleberry Hound # 18 or Walt Disney's Comics & Stories #283. -TC
McScotty, I believe I've got that Superman comic, so I'll post the cover at some stage. Might be able to help you out with that FF issue as well, Dougie. TC, I'll have to check my Huckleberry Hound comics to see if I've got #18. (It'll be the U.K. one if I do have it.)
William the Conqueror by Dudley D Watkins
Would you settle for William the Conqueror by Richmal Crompton?
Oops, William the Warrior! I'm going senile.
It's a tough one. I still have ALL my childhood comics! Sheesh!
Now the one comic series I traded away many moons ago which I wish I still had is The Rook from Warren Magazines. That was a ginchy comic, with some clever twists. I'd love to have those back to read again.
Rip Off
Not sure I remember that one, Rip, but it sure sounds interesting.
The Valiant Summer Special 1970 is one I've been scouring the comic marts for.I have a vague recollection of it containing a "Cat & the Canary" type story that I'd like to read again.
These old Summer Specials were always great value for money, eh, Mel? I wish I had more of them.
The ONE comic I regret selling was from when I was an adult - namely the issue of 2000 AD with my name in it - when I won a Judge Dredd board game . I could probably get hold of a copy if only I could remember which prog featured the winners ' names .Anyone know ? With regard to McScotty ' s letter ( above ) , I ,too , was after a copy of Mighty Crusaders #4 , but easily picked up a copy on EBay for just a few dollars , so keep checking EBay , as they had more than one copy for sale . Hope you're lucky .
Am I right in thinking there was a Mighty Crusaders collected edition a few recent years back? If so, it might still be available. I think I have #1 of the original series.
