FOURTEENTH & FINAL PART Of SECRET ORIGINS COVER & IMAGE GALLERY...

Copyright DC COMICS

Okay, so let's get it out of the way.  Here we are at last, with the long-awaited (cough) final part of an almost 8-and-a-half years odyssey through the covers and various interior images of the 50-ish Secret Origins series from around the late 1980s and early '90s.  We saw the last regular mag in the previous gallery instalment - this time around it's Annuals, Specials, and Giants just to complete the set.

Actually, Weird Secret Origins doesn't really belong here as it's a reprint issue published in 2004, a few years after the Replica Editions (1997/8 & 1999) of the first two mags from the '60s - plus a retro-style 'third' mag called Even More Secret Origins (2003), but I decided to throw it in just for good measure as it was stored away with the other mags in this post.  (Wouldn't want it to feel unloved and rejected, now would we?)

So that's it Crivvies - it's now time to fill in the hole, pat down the earth, say our final goodbyes to Secret Origins, and focus on what lies ahead in future posts.  Hopefully you'll all be along for the ride!  In the meantime, feel free to bid your final adieus to this series of DC mags in our eager-to-hear-from-you comments section.

(I must confess to a sense of accomplishment - I started and I finished (eventually).  Magnus Magnusson, John Humphrys, and Clive Myrie would be proud of me.)

BABE Of The DAY - DENISE MILANI...

Here she is again - the delectable
Denise Milani.  It suddenly feels a
little bit warmer and brighter around
here.  'Tis surely a miracle!

BATMAN #237 FACSIMILE EDITION...

Copyright DC COMICS

Here's a recent Facsimile Edition of Batman #237 (first published in 1971) that some Crivvies might be interested in.  The story pages are crystal clear, though the reproduction quality of the ads is a mixed bag, with some being okay and others being washed out and murky due to being scanned from an original published issue.  I do wish DC could iron out this problem and have all the ads as vibrant as the strip pages.  At least this time they've retained the 'Bigger & Better' spine-banner (without the price) that originally graced the cover, which I'm not sure has always been the case with these facsimiles.

Anyway, not long out, so grab it while you can if it's the sort of thing that floats your boat.

SECRET ORIGINS COVER & IMAGE GALLERY - PART THIRTEEN...

Copyright DC COMICS

Panic ye not, cavortin' Crivs - although this entry concludes the 50 issue regular magazine run, we're not going to end on unlucky (part) 13, as there's still one final post to come featuring Annuals and Specials.  So it's only taken around 8 years to get to the end of this series, which kind of reflects not only my lack of enthusiasm for this mag, but yours also, as (with a few exceptions aside) not many of these posts seemed to generate too many hits or comments.  Who knows, maybe there'll be a collective sigh of relief now that it's about to end, which will inspire a rabid response to mark its passing, eh?  However, wait 'til part 14 when we officially pull down the curtain on this particular gallery and close its doors for good.  In the meantime, cast a glance over what's on offer this time around.
