Back in 1972/'73 when F.O.O.M. was being prepared, according to commenter Gene Phillips, Marvel asked readers if they could come up with their own ideas for what the initials might stand for, other than Friends Of Ol' Marvel. I don't know what the result was, but it seems like a great idea to me. So, Crivvies, what can you suggest might have been a better name for the Marvel club known as F.O.O.M.?
I'll start us off: Fantabulous Organisation of Marvel. Or: Far-out Organ Of Marvel. Or: Followers Of Outright Magnificence. Or: ??? The floor's now yours.

Good, CJ, the 2nd one being the best of the two, I'd say, though I like the use of the word 'Fellowship' in the first.
How about: Faithful Observers Of Marvel? Or: Fanatical Observers Of Marvel?

I think your first one might be better as Followers Of Only Marvel, CJ. And maybe Fans Of Outstanding Marvel?
Kid, I'd been trying to think of a word beginning with O that meant fantastic, brilliant etc but outstanding didn't occur to me!
I must have a serious case of 'brain fog' at the moment, CJ, 'cos I'm having a hard time coming up with any alternate words starting with 'O', but I bet there's loads of them that could be applied to this. My well has run dry - I'm hoping it's temporary.
