I managed to get the above new presentation of Superman In The Seventies from HMV on Saturday, even though I've got an earlier edition given to me by the late Moonmando when his grown-up son (Scott) was having a clear-out. The book was first published around 2000, so it's odd (though satisfying) to have new 'first printings' of books which are more than a quarter of a century old. The new editions are slightly slimmer, having thinner (though better) paper, but still containing the full contents of ealier versions.
I've now read both this and the Batman volume, obtained the day before the Superman one, and I have to say that they were enormously good reads. They were each part of a series (In The '40s, In the '50s, In The '60s, etc.,) though I don't think I'll bother getting the others - though never say never, 'cos that money has to be spent somehow. Right, you lot - straight down to HMV (or get on to eBay) and buy your own copies if you don't already have them on your bookshelves. They'll look great alongside your other comics collections.

Along with the Batman collection that's a nice little set of 70s nostalgia .
Hope you are keeping well my friend.Superb books but Batman always appeals more to me.Looking back at the 1970s Superman comics the only period I really liked were those issues around 1970 to 74 with interest fading very quickly after that.Batman and Detective were simply nuch more interesting.Happy happy memories from the 1970s comics world. .best times ever! .
And eminently readable, McS, even though I already have most of the stories, which I hadn't read in a good long while.

I'd say the 'Kryptonite Nevermore' series by Denny O'Neal and Swanderson was probably the best Superman has ever been, Triple F. And returning Batman to his 'creature of the night' personna was another move that was long overdue.
Kid, wouldn't it be quicker to write FFF rather than Triple F?
Have you read the book "Superman In His Seventies"? Apparently Supes loves Ovaltine and The Archers.
Actually, CJ, it would be quicker to type TF, which I have actually done on occasion. Triple F sounds better than FFF though, which is why I used that, though I have also used the latter from time-to-time.
Superman doesn't age so that book doesn't exist, you rascal. You need to stop taking those drugs.
I enjoyed Superman when I first started reading and I loved the Golden Age reprints when I saw them, but the series really became a slog for me after a few years. I think the whole invulnerability thing got to me. I really hoped when the movie came out that things would change but it really didn’t. I did enjoy the occasional story, but it just didn’t stick to me.
I refer you to the Kryptonite Nevermore series, Anon (please pick a name for future comments), available in hardback (and maybe even softcover). The volume from around 2021 is the best.
