My favourite comedian, Bob Hope.
I met him in person twice, ten years apart,
and he graciously autographed several items on
both occasions - and also sent hand-signed photos
from the US. He actually owned a piece of my art
(a colour caricature of himself) which I'd sent him
as a thank you circa 1984/'85. So thanks for the
memories, Bob. Now can anyone identify
the pretty blonde burd for me?

I always liked the Road films with Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour.
I've got all of them in a remastered DVD boxed set, CJ. Another movie of his you should make a point of seeing is The Ghost Breakers. It's not what you'd expect.
I had to google that film, Kid, as I wasn't aware of it. Another Bob Hope film I liked was The Cat And The Canary.
It's similar to The Cat & The Canary, CJ, but better. Paulette Goddard is in both of them. See if you can catch it on YouTube.
Yeah I liked both Cat and the Canary and Ghost Breakers and I'd say that I enjoyed Ghost more but they're both very entertaining. Bob's funny and Paulette is gorgeous - what's not to like?
Good to see you appear to have sorted your problems with leaving a comment, PC. Yeah, Paulette was a pure dish and no mistake.
As a kid i loved Bob Hopes movies and Ghost Breakers was one of his best. Did you ever pick up the Bob Hope DC comic?
Funnily enough, McS, I only have one DC Bob Hope comic, which I acquired over 40 years ago. It's on the blog somewhere.
I don't recognize the pic as such but the costume Hope's wearing, and his relative youth, make me think of the 1957 flick BEAU JAMES, one of two attempts Hope made to do drama with comedic overtones. In JAMES he played a colorful politician who became New York's mayor from 1926 to 1932. No idea who the babe might be. Might not even be a leading lady., because once he made it big, Hope was careful to make sure most if not all of his movies had at least gorgeous woman for his fans who wanted vicarious stimulation. HIs life definitely imitated his art, for once he made it, he's supposed to made had a record number of scores-- and I ain't talking sports.
I've no idea exactly when the photo was taken, GP, though it looks kind of 1970s, and there are two dates on the back of it (it's a postcard) - May 1976 and a 1978 copyright date of the photographer, Douglas Kirkland. Bob Hope's mistress for a while was reputed to be Marylin Maxwell, who starred with him in The Lemon Drop Kid, but he's reputed to have had quite a few 'encounters' with various women.
Now that I notice more of the grey in Hope's hair, it's more likely that it's from one of his TV specials, and the babe is just some twenty-something hired to make Hope look like a player. (Which, as we're agreed, he was in real life.)
I don't know why, GP, but it gives off a British feel to me, and the burd seems familiar. He was 81 when I first met him (in 1984), yet he seemed years younger, so it's kind of hard to tie it down.
