A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

More to come this week. We have the Frightful Four, Klaw, Blastaar, and Ronan! I'm loving these books!
ReplyDeleteRip Off
Ordered them when first announced, RJ, so I'll be sleeping next to the letterbox (indoors of course) until they arrive.
ReplyDeleteThese are available over here in one of the comic shops in Melbourne, for $1.65 AU, but if I want them I'll have to pay $7.50 or therabouts in postage! Don't get me started on shipping...
ReplyDeleteSome TBs are becoming collectors' items already, PC. Someone gave me my first copy of the TB reprint of Avengers #4, which I tucked away so as it wouldn't get damaged. Looking at it months later, I saw that it had three fingerprints on the cover that I hadn't previously noticed, so bought another one from eBay. The cost? £9.99. Some key issues are appreciating pretty quickly, so although the p&p is out of proportion to the cost of the comics, it might be worth 'biting the bullet' if you really want them.
ReplyDeleteThey're priced at around a pound over here, but it would cost me a fiver to get into the City centre (Glasgow) and back, and I've only been in once in the last year 'cos I look after an elderly relative and can't leave the house for too long. I therefore buy mine on eBay, which costs around £2 per issue, but even at twice the cost, I think they're really worth having.
If only someone would open a comics shop in your neck of the woods, it would solve your problems. Here's hoping.
