A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

Well, that's interesting. I don't have a lot of Lion, but most of what i do have is straight action/adventure type strips, not cartoony humour. While i concur with your assessment, i wouldn't have expected to find it in Lion. It seems i have a spot of ignorance that needs addressing here.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't unusual for UK action/adventure comics in the '50s, '60s & '70s to carry a page or two of humorous strips, 3. And Mowser is a gem. There's another couple of his strips elsewhere on the blog, and there'll be more soon.
ReplyDeleteReg Parlett. Thanks Kid! Another name to go with some memorable strips.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he was absolutely brilliant, WJB. Never drew anything less than a brilliantly funny page in his life.
