Here it is - the second part of the FANTASTIC FOUR Pocket Book cover gallery, designed to give all you cavortin' and crazy Criv-ites the panting pleasure of perusing these pulse-pounding covers.  Note that the cover of #28 is almost the same as that of #1, which was shown in Part One of this double bill, except for the background colour and SUE & JOHNNY STORM.  Are you all ready?  Okay, then let's go!

    Interesting assemblage on #17--it was fun bringing to mind all the different places and stories each of the characters had been taken from. (I may steal it for a future trivia question!)

    You'd think it would've been quicker to produce a cover from scratch, CF, rather than dig through different sources for the four figures - in styles that don't even match, either.

    I immediately thought of Comicsfan when I saw the first cover 'cause that's the very image of Galactus he uses for an avatar. I'm pretty sure No.16 was the last of these I had as those later stories had all been in The Titans and I'd have remembered seeing them again. The story with Toomazooma was the first FF story I read when they were still in MWOM.

    I thought I had them all, CJ, but I was four short. I managed to get #20 on eBay, but not the other three. Mile High Comics in the States is selling one of them for a ridiculous price - £32.98, plus £9.08 for postage. Unbelievable.

    Was there ever a period in the 70's when the FF had different coloured uniforms ( Johnny's being red! ), or were they simply miscoloured on the cover of a 70's Marvel UK comic?

    There was the cover of an American issue of the FF which was printed with one of the colour plates missing, resulting in the costumes being purple (or similar colour). It was caught and corrected 'though, so two versions of the comic exist.

    World Distributors printed an FF Album where the costumes were red and yellow and the Thing was a greyish blue (I think).

    In reply to John Pitt - I don't have the issues to hand but Johnny does have a red costume in the mid-70's. It was given to him by the Inhumans, presumably to make up for Crystal dumping him for Quicksilver.

    Ah, I see - I thought JP was telling us about Johnny's red costume (which I knew about) and asking about the other three's. He got it in issue #132 and wore it until #159.

      Cheers, Kid, going to reacquaint myself with those covers on GCD.As I remembered it Reed had blue, Johnny -red and Sue or Crystal perhaps a ligher shade of blue?? I'll know after I've checked.

      Well after checking, Johnny was on fire throughout that run, BUT on #140 - there he was - in the red. And it looks like Medusa could well have been standing in for Sue around this time, in her purple cozzie, so this will have given me the impression that the FF had different coloured uniforms.

    I was forgetting that you could only see the covers, JP, but the interiors of #132 show Johnny in his red costume. I had this issue at the time, but can't recall if I've still got a copy. I DO have a reprint of it in a Masterworks volume 'though. (And in b&w in an issue of The Complete FF.)

    That is a crazy price that Mile High are asking, Kid, I was recently trying to find the only issue of Crisis that I was missing and someone had obviously realised that they had the only copy on eBay and bumped their price up a bit.

    I've no problem with anyone making a profit, but they were asking £129.99 for it!!! Unrealistic and frankly insane.

    Still, at least they offered free postage.

    You're telling me, DD. Some American dealers seem to think that British titles are highly collectable. One was asking for £432.87, plus £23.53, for the Marvel Annual for 1974. You can usually pick up a decent copy for around a tenner. What they forget is that eBay has turned the world into one country when it comes to buying stuff on the internet.
