A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

I remember a number of those covers from the UK Conan monthly but the standout one for me is #36 which was the cover of UK SSOC #11 dated September 1978 containing The Tower Of The Elephant. It's a great cover but in the story itself there's no half-naked damsel in distress and the spider is much smaller.
ReplyDeleteI first saw most of these covers on the UK SSOC as well, CJ, though I think I also bought the US mag on occasions. Back in the mid-'80s onwards, it was good to see them again on Saga. My favourite covers are usually ones with the best looking burds on them. What can I say? I'm a dirty old man (to be said in a Harold Steptoe voice).
DeleteI take exception to you referring to your neighbourhood women as munters. Cheek. We can't all be good-looking like what you are.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know. I'm so handsome - everybody says so.
