YOU'RE SPOILING US, MISTER AMBASSADOR...

Saw this book from 2010 in the window of a charity shop today, going for only £6 - so I snapped it up immediately.  If you know your comics you'll already be aware who Jerry Robinson is without me having to tell you, so I'll settle for showing you some images from the book.  Enjoy!  Oh, and tell your fellow Crivvies what the best bargain is you've ever bought from a charity shop or jumble sale.  Go on, you're allowed to boast about your good fortune from time-to-time.

(And award yourself a 'no-no prize' if you know which TV ad inspired this post's title.)

  1. That's a pretty nice charity shop find for a comic book fan. I have picked up a few good charity shop books and comics over the years including a few 1960s DC, Marvel and UK comics for £0.50p to £1 each. My favourite was a large hardback book collecting the Trigan Empire with Don Lawrence art for £1.50 about 20 years ago.

    1. I think that might be the book I have as well, McS, though I got mine in John Menzies across from Frazer's in Buchanan Street in the late '70s or early '80s. It's a nice book.

    1. Thanks, JC, now fixed. I wish I knew why they do that from time-to-time.

  3. Have you put up your Christmas decorations yet, Kid?

    1. Not yet, CJ. Might not put them up at all this year because my energy levels are low. Haven't written it off yet though.

  4. You should limit yourself to just one tree, Kid, which you could store downstairs to avoid going up to the loft.

    1. I'd been thinking of moving my Christmas decorations into the cupboard under the stairs, but that would mean clearing out the cupboard first and I'd still have to go into the loft to transfer the decorations . Too tired, no balance, alas, CJ.

    1. It's actually going quite cheap on eBay at the moment, B, with one or two more expensive copies. However, there's postage to the States to consider.

  6. I took at look at eBay, Kid, and saw that the cheapest copy was £3.97p including postage, if I sent to a UK address, so I sent it to a pal in Pompey for me to pick up on my next trip over. Thanks for the tip. There was a huge variance in pricing from different sellers.

    1. Well, you know what the greed of some sellers is like, B. Some were asking far too much, I thought.
