A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

That's a pretty nice charity shop find for a comic book fan. I have picked up a few good charity shop books and comics over the years including a few 1960s DC, Marvel and UK comics for £0.50p to £1 each. My favourite was a large hardback book collecting the Trigan Empire with Don Lawrence art for £1.50 about 20 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI think that might be the book I have as well, McS, though I got mine in John Menzies across from Frazer's in Buchanan Street in the late '70s or early '80s. It's a nice book.
DeleteHi Kid, when I click on the 2nd image (Batman & Robin), the same image as no. 3 comes up.
ReplyDeleteThanks, JC, now fixed. I wish I knew why they do that from time-to-time.
DeleteHave you put up your Christmas decorations yet, Kid?
ReplyDeleteNot yet, CJ. Might not put them up at all this year because my energy levels are low. Haven't written it off yet though.
DeleteYou should limit yourself to just one tree, Kid, which you could store downstairs to avoid going up to the loft.
ReplyDeleteI'd been thinking of moving my Christmas decorations into the cupboard under the stairs, but that would mean clearing out the cupboard first and I'd still have to go into the loft to transfer the decorations . Too tired, no balance, alas, CJ.
DeleteThat's a really interesting find, Kid. Have never been aware of it. Another book to add to the wants list.....
ReplyDeleteIt's actually going quite cheap on eBay at the moment, B, with one or two more expensive copies. However, there's postage to the States to consider.
DeleteI took at look at eBay, Kid, and saw that the cheapest copy was £3.97p including postage, if I sent to a UK address, so I sent it to a pal in Pompey for me to pick up on my next trip over. Thanks for the tip. There was a huge variance in pricing from different sellers.
ReplyDeleteWell, you know what the greed of some sellers is like, B. Some were asking far too much, I thought.
