A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

On a completely different subject, Wikipedia claims that William The Conqueror was born on November 8th (1028) so you share a birthday with him, Kid, but the same article also says he was born in either 1027 or 1028 and gives no precise birthdate which is what I'd always heard so I was surprised to see the November 8th claim.
ReplyDeleteThe same year as me as well, CJ - now that's an amazing coincidence. (IF my birthday is November 8th, that is.)
DeleteYou were born in 1028, Kid? I must say you're remarkable for your age!
ReplyDeleteYes, I know - it's genetical. I sure don't look my age.
DeleteHappily it's the Batgirl I grew up with, who wasn't ashamed to have tits and an ass on her.
ReplyDeleteJust the kind of woman I wouldn't mind meeting nowadays, GP. She's surely out there searching for me even as I type.
DeleteBy an odd coincidence before I came here, I happened to glance at my review of the first GI JOE live-action film, and thought, "Hey, actress Sienna Miller has dimensions very like Kid's Batgirl." If you can land her, remember my finder's fee.
ReplyDeleteIf I do a Babe Of The Day with her, remember there's a charge for looking, GP, so just deduct your finder's fee from that. (Hee hee.)
DeleteGoogled her, GP (no, not a euphemism). A comely wench sure enough, though not in Batgirl's league.
DeleteAre you following the papal conclave, Kid? Wikipedia's list of all the popes reveals there was a Pope Hilarius in the 5th Century and a Pope Conon in the 7th Century but sadly he didn't come from southern Germany so he wasn't known as Conon The Bavarian. There have also been five popes called Sixtus but no Sixtus the Sixth so far.
ReplyDeleteNot following it in the slightest, CJ, absolutely no interest in it. Bad fire for me, eh?
DeleteI'm just curious to see who wins, Kid, and what name he'll take. We are currently living in a period without a Pope and without an Archbishop of Canterbury and such periods don't happen very often assuming such a period has ever happened before in the last 1,500 years.
ReplyDeleteNone of it makes any difference to my life, so I never concern myself with such things, CJ. Hey, I've got comics and toys to think about - that's more important.
DeleteThe religion of comics and toys. The only religion that creates zero conflict throughout the world. (The Marvel and DC fanboy divide, doesn't count). AMEN!'
ReplyDeleteDunno about that, AAW - just watch two collectors wrestling over who gets to buy a Plaston Stingray at a Toy Fayre.
Delete"...so I never concern myself with such things CJ" - have you forgotten our (sometimes heated) discussions about religious matters on this very blog a number of years ago, Kid??
ReplyDeleteAny heat was on your side, CJ, as I'm much too relaxed about such things to get worked up about them. Of course, I might feign a bit of 'enthusiasm' on controversial matters from time-to-time to provoke a response from people, but it's the duty of a good blog host to 'stir the pot'. (That's the only way to produce a good 'stew'.)
DeleteI would totally worship a real-world version of the breasts of the Infantino Batgirl, as long as I could do obeisance through my conception of extreme unction (which would definitely include the anointing with oil part).
ReplyDeleteYou're too late, GP. Batgirl was round at my house last night, and begged me to anoint her with 'oil', which I was more than happy to do.
