A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

That Frankenstein's Monster ad from the back of DC comics is certainly one that sticks in the mind ; in fact, so many of those back-page ads on DC comics in the sixties and early seventies were so iconic.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if any artist of note did the DC ad, tracing the outlines of Bama's paintings to include all of the box covers that he did?
I'd love to know who the artist is myself, B. Like you say, it's one of those iconic ads that sticks in the mind, just like the Zeroids, Captain Action, and G.I. Joe ads. Oh, and not forgetting Major Matt Mason.
ReplyDeleteAny Crivvies know who the artist is on the Aurora ad in this post?
