REBEL WITHOUT A PAUSE...

(Nah, I don't know what I mean either.)

Copyright REBELLION

A 3 o'clock delivery from the Royal Mail has brought a trio of great books into my possession, so I thought I'd give you a quick look at them.  First up (above) is the newest - The Steel Claw.  'Nuff said.  Following the back cover of this magnificent tome is a couple of ads for upcoming publications, so start saving your shekels now!

The next two books are older ones, but I only ordered them recently as I was waiting until it was time to slit open another mattress and treat myself.  Volume 2 of The Leopard From Lime Street, and World-Wide Weirdies.  If you don't have them yet, you should.  Buy 'em now while there's still some left.

  1. Some great collections there. I'm thinking of getting the Steel Claw (one of my all time favourite UK strips) and probably Adam Eterno. Rebellion are also doing a new Monster Fun special that I will pick up as enjoyed their previous humour mags. Would love to see a White Eyes collection.

  2. I'll definitely be getting Adam Eterno - and The Spider one as well. You should consider getting The Leopard From Lime Street, McS - the strips are actually hugely entertaining. I'd only ever read the occasional episode when the strips were first published in Buster so I never had a sense back then of just how good they were, but they're an extremely engaging read.

  3. Kid, do you own any Star Trek annuals from the '70s? I had at least a couple of those as Christmas presents.

  4. I don't, CJ, nor did I have any at the time. However, I've got the IDW 3 volume set of UK Star Trek strips, so I imagine that the contents of the ST Annuals are included in it.

  5. Yeah I might pick up the Leopard From Lime Street as well, like you I never really read it (but was aware of the character) and love Mike Westerns art. Not going to happen but wold love to see an Oddball Oats collection as well - I might get the Ken Reid collection of football strips aS I am planning to sell a lot of my old UK comics - most I kept/bought only for Ken Reids art so to have them in a collection would save space.

  6. I've got an unofficial collected edition of Reid's footer strips, but I'll buy the Rebellion one as, hopefully, the colour strips will be reproduced in colour and not in b&w like the 'pirate' version was. There's two volumes of Leopard, McS, but they're a lot of fun and worth having.
