I haven't seen the flick in like 20 years, but I remember thinking that she made a good lady outlaw and played it pretty straight. She also plays a character named "Belle Starr" in Bob Hope's PALEFACE, but that was a comedy. Still, it has a great scene where Belle/Jane gets the drop on three assassins while she's still in her underwear, and she blasts them all to kingdom come. The near juxtaposition between all of the "guns" she wields MAY be mere coinkinkydink.
ReplyDeleteTwo great movies, GP, and very funny, though Jane plays Calamity Jane in The Paleface, not Belle Starr - unless that was an alias she used. (In Son Of Paleface she plays Mike 'The Torch' Delroy.) I've got them both on DVD and must watch them again soon. Terrific stuff.
ReplyDeleteI’ve never seen this movie . I think Paleface was the one where Bob Hope sings the song Buttons and Bows?
ReplyDeleteI think the song is sung in both Paleface and Son of Paleface, but I'd have to check to make sure, PS.
