I bought this one mainly for the nostalgic allure of owning a comic I had many years ago, but had forgotten just how great the story is.
ReplyDeleteMarvel in the mid-80s just seemed to have the perfect creative teams on the right comics; Miller and Janson on Daredevil, Byrne on FF, Claremont on X-Men and Walt Simonson on Thor. Not to mention the Stern/Buscema/Palmer Avengers run.
I might actually have the original of this, can't quite remember, but there's just something so alluring about these facsimile editions which is hard to explain. I read this issue when it arrived and much enjoyed it, which is not something I can say about most 'modern' comics.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you're right - the mid-'80s were a good time for comics - if we forget Secret Wars and New Universe (and a few others).
