KLASSIC KIRBY KOMIC KOVERS - JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #84...

Image copyright MARVEL COMICS

Quick - who's the nurse in the left of the picture?  JANE FOSTER you say?  No, JANE NELSON, which is what Nurse Jane was called in her first appearance, in JOURNEY Into MYSTERY #84. (It was amended to Foster in early reprints, but was restored to Nelson in more up-to-date re-presentations.)  The EXECUTIONER wasn't THOR's ASGARDIAN adversary of the same name, but rather only the lowly dictator of SAN DIABLO, a rather second-rate villain for the mighty thunder god it has to be said.  JACK KIRBY has made 'Goldilocks' a little bulkier on this cover than the previous one, but inside he's slightly more slender in form.
