A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

Come on, quit stalling....what did you think of the new Dr Who?
ReplyDeleteNever watched it, BS. It'll be interesting to see what the newspapers say about it today.
ReplyDeleteKid, you must watch at least the first episode of Dr. Who so you can review it - otherwise you are failing in your duty as a blogger!
ReplyDeleteI've just downloaded Dr. Who to my tablet and I'll watch it later :)
If I watched it, I'd be failing in my duty as a principled viewer who is making a stand against PC p*sh. Tell you what, CJ - YOU review it, I'll publish it on the blog.
ReplyDeleteHere’s my review: Spoilers!
ReplyDeleteThis is Who free of baggage and the trip did seem lighter. No Tardis, no mythos, just a fast moving romp and a free flying ensemble cast (literally in those final seconds which delivered a genuinely good cliffhanger). This Doctor is Yorkshire bred and as well intentioned as the guy off the PlusNet telly ads. No fears? There’s plenty- not only a worthy adversary but vertigo, falling off bikes and a death count never seen before in the old Songs of Praise slot. Early Sunday night is the new Saturday evening and for the 10 weeks to Christmas there are presents to be opened all the way as the acting rollcall at the end promises. Chris Noth! No expense spared.
Wish they'd spared the trans-gender nonsense though, CN.
ReplyDeleteMy Dr Who thoughts for the interested...

Apparently Jodie Whittaker's first episode got 40% of the TV audience and overwhelmingly positive reviews in the press. She did a fine job in my opinion - it's a pity you refuse to join us in the 21st Century, Kid. My only complaint is about the usual tiresome quips draining any tension or drama.
ReplyDeleteI was in the 21st century before you were even born, CJ - I read TV21, which was dated 100 years ahead. The fans are divided, and as for 'the press' - well, journalists and TV critics are hardly the best possible standard to go on. Don't like her 'Vera' voice - and all it's doing is waving the flag for the LGBT gang. Nope, not having any part of it - others can fall for it if they want.
