A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

Well, look at you - all Mr. Future while i'm still stuck living back here in 2017.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your shiny new year and think of us poor primitive sods trapped here in the past.
Don't worry, it won't be long 'til you join me in tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! That line always reminds me of the late great Ronnie Barker as Fletch in an episode of Porridge, where he gives a long motivational speech to his young cellmate and closes with that immortal piece of advice.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year mate
ReplyDeleteThanks, PC. Porridge - now there was a classic comedy series. Written by the same writers of Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads - an equally (at least) classic series.

And the same again to you, PS. You don't seem to comment as often as you used to. Busy? Or has my blog lost its sex appeal?
Happy New Year!! Love the blog!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Happy New Year to you too.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to yo sir, Happy New Year! Hey did you get the crimbo card I sent you?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to report I didn't receive your card, AJ, otherwise I'd also have sent you one, but the Royal Mail didn't perform too well this year. One of my friends didn't get the card I sent him and his missus 'til nearly a fortnight after I sent it - even though he lives in the same town and the card was sent 1st Class. Maybe yours will still turn up - I'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteThat’s rather unfortunate as I also included a Ladybird edition of Wild in the Willows for you as well… that will teach me to not send it recorded! Ho-Hum, sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteAw, buggah! I posted a couple of cards with CDs in them, but I sent them recorded because I knew some dishonest posties might wonder why the cards were so thick and nick 'em. I actually have a couple of Ladybird Wind In The Willows books, but it's still a shame because yours might've been a different edition. It might still turn up hopefully, and if it does I'll let you know right away. Thanks for the thought and effort anyway.
ReplyDeleteI thought you might have it (it was more sentiment really) either way hope you get it and all the best to you in the New Year sir.
ReplyDeleteAnd the very same to you and yours, sir. I'm hoping that it will turn up, 'cos I hate to see anyone's time and trouble wasted when they've done someone a good turn.
ReplyDeleteHope it does and you are most welcome sir :)
ReplyDeleteGood man.
