A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

I've never seen any of the original Avengers but I believe this episode involved a group called the Hellfire Club. It seems remarkably similar to the 1980 X-Men story in which Jean Grey becomes the Black Queen of a group called The Hellfire Club - surely not just a coincidence !
ReplyDeleteNo indeed. One of the characters was called Jason Wyngarde, I think - and looked like Peter Wyngarde, who played Jason King.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of the Diana Rigg and Linda Thorson episodes, although, AFAIR, I never saw the Hellfire Club. It may have been daring in the 1960's, but I suspect it would not seem particularly edgy today.
ReplyDeleteThough, to be honest TC, Diana still looks pretty 'risque' in that outfit today.
