PART EIGHT OF DON STARR IN THE DRAMA OF DOOM...

Copyright relevant owner

DON STARR's DRAMA Of DOOM concludes with these three double-page episodes, Criv-ites.  We join him again in an APPOINTMENT With FEAR - coming whenever I get around to scanning the pages from my back numbers of TERRIFIC.  So don't forget to remember to join us then.  Pax Vobiscum!

  1. I bet it takes you quite some time to get these into this condition too, Kidda!
    Lovely job, as always!

  2. Thanks, JP, but I have a shocking confession to make. These strips aren't attracting too much interest going by the hits they get, so I've been giving them the bare minimum in smartening them up a bit. Except when there's a glaring need of course.

  3. Well, they all look pretty smart to me! I guess you have to be of an age that remembers the Power comics the first time around to be interested in the none-Marvel strips!

  4. Alas, I think we're a dying breed, JP.

  5. Poor Don Starr. I don't recall him at all. I do recall the old Bobby helmets. Dixon of Dock Green anyone? I wonder if he ever had a comic.

  6. Dixon had a strip in Swift comic, Phil, which was a companion to Eagle.

  7. Does anyone remember a story called Johnny Future that was in this comic?

  8. Johnny Future was in Fantastic, not Terrific, SD - and the complete run of JF is on this very blog, along with its earlier Missing Link strips.

  9. Johnny Future has a great costume.

I'm sharing these treats on my FB page to try drumming up some interest. But the rest of the comics people in my writers group are so damned young!

  10. Interestingly, the symbol on his costume was added by editorial, OD - it wasn't part of artist Luis Bermejo's design. There's an interesting 'origin' behind The Missing Link/JF in my post called 'Superman's Dad - Part Two Of Johnny Future'.
