You liked the other covers I showed you from this 11 issue series, right? Then I'll bet you'll love these variant ones at least just as much. So why not wax lyrical about them in the comments section? Sometimes you just have to express yourself!
And another nice array of Timely covers. What spoiled some of the Timely strips for me was the joined-up handwriting for the lettering. It was hard work on the eyes and I had 20/20 vision back in'68!
ReplyDeleteAnd the fact that the reproduction of the Timely strips reprinted in Fantasy Masterpieces wasn't that great wouldn't have helped, JP. You should consider getting the Timely Collection book - it's a good read. See if your local library has it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't actually notice the poor reproduction back in '68, but I do remember those stories being hard work on the eyes.
DeleteAs I no longer have those FM's, a splash page gallery would be welcome, if you have them handy?

ReplyDeleteThere were 11 issues of Fantasy Masterpieces, JP, before it changed to Marvel Superheroes with its 12th issue. (Not to be confused with the one-shot mag of the same name from 1966.) I have a few of them, but because they're 68 page square-bound Specials, it might be difficult to open them wide enough for scanning. I'll check them out and get back to you.
