A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

Wasn't this song written back in the 1920's or thereabouts ? Of course in 1975 the '20s was only 50 years earlier and now the '70s are nearly that long ago, yikes. It's funny how in Britain it was Art Garfunkel who had the #1 hits - this song and 'Bright Eyes' in 1979 while in America it was his former partner who had the big #1 singles. I don't think this song or Bright Eyes were U.S. hits at all.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's an ancient song, but a goodie. Lots of singers had sung it before Art did.
