EASTER FROLICS WITH FRANKIE STEIN...

Copyright REBELLION

As a special 'egg-stra' Easter treat (ho ho, I'm so funny), here's the FRANKIE STEIN strip from WHAM! #44, cover-dated April 17th 1965, as drawn by the inimitable KEN REID.

  1. Now if only someone in the Easter '67 Pow is chomping on an egg we'd have a full set!
Now I know why all your Frankies are also so clean. I used to think you must have kept all your comics in an airtight vault. You go to a lot of trouble for us, Kidda! See you tomorrow.

  2. I think I posted the Easter Pow! issue last year, JP. The Frankies are brilliant, aren't they? Ken Reid was unsurpassed at that point in his career.

  3. It was another Easter Smash last year, I've been revisiting some old Odhams posts.
Yes, Frankie was Ken"s pinnacle - I don't see how he could have improved it, but for sheer nostalgia, I'm starting to have cravings for Jonahs as well.

  4. I think I have some black and white reprints of Jonah somewhere. Must dig 'em out sometime.
