PART TWO OF SUPER DC TEXT STORIES...

Copyright relevant owner

And now, for your eager enjoyment, comes the text stories that accompanied the comic strip reprints contained within the pages of SUPER DC #s 4, 5 & 6.  I'm not sure just who wrote these tales, but considering that editor MICK ANGLO did just about everything else on the mag, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that he penned these titanic text adventures too.

By the way, if anyone has a copy of Super DC #14 that they'd be willing to part with for a decent price, then get in touch via the Criv-ites comments section.  Otherwise we're going to be two tales short of the full run.  (Update:  Number 14 has now been obtained.)

  1. Thanks again for these. Obviously the UK contributions to Super DC , as with Fantastic , are much harder to come across. Good luck with#14.

  2. Thanks, JP. It's proving difficult to track down, but maybe I'll get my hands on it one day.

  3. Took delivery of #14 yesterday, finally completing the set. Only skimmed through it but the text stories are both generic! No Batman or Superman!

  4. Would you consider selling it, Andrew? Or sending me good quality scans of every page so that I can make a facsimile? I'd reimburse you for your time and trouble.

Or how about this for an idea? If you sell it to me (give you £15 for it), I'll make a high quality facsimile of the complete comic and send it to you.

  5. Couldn't sell it- like you I've been waiting a long long time for this one. However I was going to scan it and make a CBR for my own archive. I'll upload the raw scans to my 4shared account and send you the link if that's any good to you?

  6. That would be much appreciated, Andrew - thanks.

  7. Andrew, I've just come in to find your third attempt, and while I was looking at it, another one popped up. I haven't posted your comment with the link in case you don't want to share it with everybody, but if you want me to publish it, just say so.

Thanks once again for all your time and trouble. If there's a comic you'd like me to scan for you in return, just say so.

  8. Hi Kid, no problem. It's a bit of an odd issue isn't it? Almost as if the money was running out towards the end...

  9. Andrew, what I always found odd was the fact that it was copyright-dated 1969 throughout its entire 14 issue, 1970/'71 run, and was priced at a shilling. (Later issues had 5p labels.) I've got two number ones, and the type-face of the page numbers and indicias is slightly different between the two versions, as is the page size.

If you ever decide you can part with #14, I'll give you £25 for it, inclusive of postage. In the meantime, I'm going to make a facsimile. Thanks again.
