SMASH! was a great comic - in both incarnations. Readers like myself may've missed the MARVEL reprints, but the 1969 revamped version of the title had its own unique charm which was hard to resist. JANUS STARK, SIMON TEST, The PILLATER PERIL - and, of course, the curious CURSITOR DOOM, all had a mysterious, atmospheric quality that was practically guaranteed to snag any young reader of the time, hook, line and sinker!
Some U.S. comics companies have virtually made an industry out of reprinting their back-catalogues, so it's practically a crime that U.K. ones haven't been brave enough to follow their lead. Sure, there've been a few independent publishers who've released the occasional collection of classic strips from time to time, but very little or nothing from the actual copyright holders themselves. Such a shame. Let's hope things change one day.
Anyway, here we are with the fourth episode of The CASE Of KALAK The DWARF, as illustrated by the incredible ERIC BRADBURY. Make sure there's nothing lurking behind, under, or inside your sofa and plunge right in! (The comic strip, not the sofa.)
