BAR SIX - THE BEST BAR NONE?

The last time I recall eating a Cadbury's BAR SIX was sometime in the late '80s or so.  I remember my maternal grandparents used to have a stock of them (and other chocolate bars) when I was a child and I probably first tasted one at their house on one of our weekly Sunday visits in the late '60s.

Am I correct in thinking there was just a hint of CARAMAC about the taste?  Regardless, they always went down well with a cuppa.  Cadbury's should bring them back at once.  Anyone else agree?  Speak up at the back there!

  1. I am unfamiliar with Bar Six! Is there a candy bar out now that would taste like it?

  3. There you are, Don - Joe answered your question. KitKats are the nearest things I can think of, although I think Bar Sixes were a more caramel-flavoured wafer-biscuit bar. I wish I could taste one again to remind me. If I ever discover anything that tastes like what I remember, I'll let you know.

  5. Sorry KitKat is nothing like Bar 6.. If you are interested I have just found a choc bar called " Choceur" Milk Chocolate & Hazelnut wafers from ALDI UK. Much more Like Bar 6. :)

  6. Katherine, KitKats were chocolate-coated, crispy wafer biscuit bars - as were Bar Six - so it's over-stating the case to say they were nothing alike. The taste WAS different 'though, as has already been mentioned. Buy me a 'Choceur' the next time you're in Aldi's.

  7. My dad last year told me about bar six being his favourite bar of chocolate ever, I have been hunting the internet to try and find one for him. He is not very well just now and I know it would cheer him up. I take it you can not get these anywhere? Dani.

  8. To the best of my knowledge it's no longer available, but Cadbury's occasionally do limited runs of old chocolate bars, so it could make a reappearance one day. Aztec had a limited return in 2000, and Old Jamacia has resurfaced a couple of times.
