I usually only got a Summer or Holiday Special when a visiting relative pressed a half-crown into my palm on his departure - then it was straight over to the shops the next day to buy that Special I wanted, but couldn't hitherto afford. Mowser was a very humorous strip I thought, McS. I can't think of one strip in today's comics that's as consistently funny as Mowser was - or even comes close, in fact.
