Facsimile Editions, True Believers, and old back issues is what I mainly buy these days, with an occasional newbie. Says a lot for the US comics scene, eh?Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07224781868125924337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740495193314269367.post-65814719513807405572021-02-24T22:49:11.535+00:002021-02-24T22:49:11.535+00:00Just received my copy today. Thanks for keeping us all posted on these facsimile editions.
Have just to read it, but looking through it the Kane/Giacoia art is better than I remembered it but the colouring is a little too bright for my taste. Something that was an unexpected bonus was the reproduction of the Marvelmania Steranko ad. The work by Steranko, even in miniature, really comes to life.
Spirit of '64Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740495193314269367.post-80072891509967728232021-02-09T20:14:19.585+00:002021-02-09T20:14:19.585+00:00Can't recall if I ever read it, DS, but I'...Can't recall if I ever read it, DS, but I'm sure I saw it somewhere.Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07224781868125924337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740495193314269367.post-15381682140740392422021-02-09T19:24:59.817+00:002021-02-09T19:24:59.817+00:00There was a What If issue based around Spidey keep...There was a What If issue based around Spidey keeping his extra arms. For example, Marvel reprinted some of the early X-Men tales in two different mags at different times. One may have been The Super-Heroes, the other was definitely The Titans. I ain't digging through a cupboard to find out, so anyone know for sure?Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07224781868125924337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740495193314269367.post-87947748864584265422021-02-07T20:22:35.672+00:002021-02-07T20:22:35.672+00:00This story was reprinted in SMCW issue 139 and 140...This story was reprinted in SMCW issue 139 and 140 Phil (landscape version of SMCW) with cover presented here being used for issue 149. Would love to say that's from memory but I was looking out my old Marvel UK comics earlier today and these issues are two of a handful I still have (well about 30 odd issues). I might get that facsimile edition as I never had the US original.McSCOTTYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00180091610187270638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740495193314269367.post-34012811040793959682021-02-07T20:21:09.480+00:002021-02-07T20:21:09.480+00:00Just a few months before the landscape format comm...Just a few months before the landscape format commenced....Christopher Nevellnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740495193314269367.post-5614668333773146712021-02-07T19:26:04.186+00:002021-02-07T19:26:04.186+00:00I suspect it may have been one of the 'landsca...I suspect it may have been one of the 'landscape' mags, PS, like the combined Super Spider-Man & Captain Britain - one of those type of mags.Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07224781868125924337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3740495193314269367.post-48434828984189340172021-02-07T19:08:32.016+00:002021-02-07T19:08:32.016+00:00You know what’s funny I know I read this story way...You know what’s funny I know I read this story way back in the 70s but I don’t own this comic.
