A cascading cornucopia of cool comics, crazy cartoons, & classic collectables - plus other completely captivating & occasionally controversial contents. With nostalgic notions, sentimental sighings, wistful wonderings, remorseful ruminations, melancholy musings, rueful reflections, poignant ponderings, & yearnings for yesteryear. (And a few profound perplexities, puzzling paradoxes, & a bevy of big, beautiful, bedazzling, buxom Babes to round it all off.)

'Very nice!' Extremely detailed, it must be resin, surely? It reminds me of the smaller Aurora 'Monsters of the Movies', Frankenstein's creature model kit.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a tough resin, not cheap stuff that breaks easily. Very nice. Right, I'm off to bed.
DeleteYesterday was 50 years since The Super-Heroes No.9 came out which was the only issue of that comic I ever bought and it was the one where the Silver Surfer meets Frankenstein or was he a descendent of Frankenstein? Anyway it was the first Silver Surfer story I ever read and I wonder if I bought the comic because it mentioned Frankenstein on the cover?
ReplyDeleteI've just googled the US Silver Surfer issue and it's "The Heir Of Frankenstein" so obviously a descendent!
ReplyDelete50 years, eh? I remember it as though it was only a few months ago, CJ. In fact, I remember it better than only a few months ago. As you know, I still have all 50 issues of The Super-Heroes that I bought back in the day.
DeleteI remember seeing these advertised at the time and always wondered what they looked like in reality, very very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't a Monsters Of The Movies model, McS, it's a more recent one than that. However, the MOTM model kits were great models. I only ever had the Frankie one, bought back in the mid-'70s or so. I got the Monogram/Revell reissue around 25 years ago and still haven't built it.
