THE NAME'S REEVES - JIM REEVES, 007...

Talking of JAMES BOND (as we were in the previous post), here's a pic of the late, great JIM REEVES, which, if you pasted in a WALTHER P.P.K. (or whatever type of gun 007 carries these days) wouldn't look out of place as part of a promotional campaign for a Bond film.  And just think - he could've sung the theme song as well.

If he had played Bond, and if the photo were part of the promotional campaign, it would appear in ads for Omega (or whatever type of wristwatch he's wearing).

I think Bond has worn Omega wristwatches in the past, TC, but I couldn't swear to it.

In Casino Royale, Daniel Craig mentions that he's wearing an Omega. And he appeared in ads for that brand at the time. Now he's appearing as 007 in Heineken commercials. Product placement and tie-ins have long been a part of the Bond movies.

Re: 007's gun, he was issued a 7.65mm (.32" caliber) Walther PPK in Dr. No, and that is the weapon usually carried by Connery, Lazenby, Moore, and Dalton. Moore also used a Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver in Live and Let Die.

I think Brosnan usually had a Walther P99 or P5 9mm pistol, and Sean had a P5 in Never Say Never Again.

In Skyfall, Bond is again issued a Walther PPK, this time in "9mm Short" (aka .380).

Where'd Bond be without the Walther, eh, TC? Thanks for the research - saved me having to do it.
