AGAIN - THE THREE INVESTIGATORS...

Very apt - Funny Business is set against a comicbook convention

Further to my recent post on the THREE INVESTIGATORS series of books, I thought you perhaps might like to see a cover gallery of some paperbacks I purchased several years back.  The first three are from the later run of adventures, with the lads now around 17 or 18, and not the 13 or 14 year-olds they were originally.

You may not know that there was a similar series of six books back around 1977 called ROGER MOORE & THE CRIMEFIGHTERS, which was a sort of British equivalent to JUPITER JONES and his pals.  I remember flicking through one in a shop called BELL, BOOK & CANDLE in '77/'78, but I've never actually read one, as far as I recall.  (If I have, it couldn't have made much of an impression.)

Anyway, if you're a fan of the Three Investigators, now you know what to keep an eye out for in the charity shops.

Still on the comicbook theme, is that Stan Lee on the above cover?

HAPPY EASTER, Kid!
Unfortunately, I had never heard of the 3 Investigators until Col and yourself first mentioned them. Looks like I missed out on some good books there.
How come, no matter how much you did/do read, it's never enough? One lifetime isn't long enough, is it?

Roger Moore & The Crimefighters ? If this post had appeared two days ago I'd have assumed that was an April Fool's prank !! Bell, Book and Candle is also a film - my father was planning to watch it when it was shown on Channel 4 in September 1999 but he died suddenly a few hours before it was broadcast (I think he'd seen it before though). The Three Investigators aged 18 are not my Three Investigators.

Happy Easter to you, JP. One lifetime isn't enough even if you're Adam Eterno.

Seen it, CJ.

I've only just noticed that line about Stan Lee right at the bottom - yes, it does look like him, perhaps the tied-up kid had said Steve Ditko invented Spider-Man.

Deserves a good gubbing if he did.

I'm not keen on the new covers, the colors seem garish 80s

Personally, I'd prefer the original Random House illos, but I suppose they're trying to make them look more modern.
